Bethel Lutheran Church (ELCA) has an exciting opportunity for a music director/organist. The part-time position (7-10 hrs/week), in a faithful and caring environment, includes paid vacation and sick leave. Position is available immediately. Learn more about Bethel at www.bethelonbond.org
Responsibilities
- Have a pivotal role in the music life of the church by helping to create seasonal liturgies and picking worship music with the support of the pastor
- Provide music for all worship services (weekly Sunday worship at 9am) of the congregation including special services
- Serve as accompanist for for choir rehearsals and be a part of the Worship & Music Committee
- Work with a small staff and the church leadership to support the mission of the congregation through musical leadership and positive communication
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in church worship, with ability to play both piano and organ.
- Music degree preferred
- Understanding of liturgy and hymnody (esp. with the ELCA Lutheran hymnals). Familiarity with blended worship preferred.
NOTE: We also currently have a choir director position open which can be combined with this position for added compensation.
