Bethel Lutheran Church (ELCA) has an exciting opportunity for a versatile, proactive office administrator to lead our daily operations The part-time position (up to 20 hours/week) offers flexible Monday-Thursday work hours in a comfortable and caring environment and includes paid vacation and sick leave. Position potential start date is May 1st.
Responsibilities
- Publication Development: to include preparing weekly worship bulletins & monthly newsletters
- Technology, Website, & Social Media: produce communication updates and postings
- Office Management: day to day office responsibilities supporting the pastor, staff, & congregation
- Receptionist: answer incoming mail, emails, and phone calls and greet visitors
- Volunteer Management: assist council (lay leadership) and other committees
Skills & Experience
Ability to work independently on a routine basis. Capacity to interact with a wide variety of people in a personable manner. Demonstrated capability to be self-motivated, reliable, efficient, and manage a number of tasks simultaneously. Aptitude to handle confidential information and to be discrete when dealing with sensitive situations. Computer knowledge of various publishing and database programs as well as word processing experience is required. Experience with and understanding of Christian worship and traditions is helpful. Knowledge of web design recommended but not required.
